That said, I don't doubt that he'd come here if he was willing to go to Everton. What he's said though is that if he leaves Madrid he might retire or maybe manage in Canada where he has a house as his missus is from there.

Re: Carlo Ancelotti has received an offer from a Premier League club
Nah. He didn't really say he wanted to manage West Ham, as if we're his 2nd favourite team or something. He just said that it didn't matter to him about managing a team outside the top 4 or even in the Championship, like we were. All he said that was positive about us as a club was that the atmosphere was amazing, and obviously that was at Upton Park, not where we're at now.

Marty, 12 years is a longtime in football especially when a successful manager is 12 years older….why would he want the rebuild at West Ham now?

He’s seen how it went to shit for Pellegrini too….just cannot see the logic for him now.

The money is at the club to attract a manager of ancellottis stamp . Don't forget it's a club he'd like to manage said as much in 2011 . Sullivan is the issue..

You’ve got to look at who they’d be working for and their constraints on purchasing….even though they spend well now it is spread out those (any) managers need serious funds….

Nailed on to replace the hapless Aussie at Hottenham Totspurs. Another serial winner whose reputation will go down as they continue to be a laughing stock

Luke I admire your optimism but we’re not getting either of those two.

Time will tell, of course...

I've named the two people I understand are serious contenders. Now we will just have to wait and see...

Wouldn't it be a surprise if the same old people who constantly run their negative gobs on here were wrong?

Again...

Whoever it is they will have to perform miracles to get the players to snap out of the 17th Century football Moyes has conditioned into them. I'd take Mancini right now and his pink panther can play centre forward.

The Alonso rumour is a lazy rumour spread around by YT content providers. It's like saying we could have had Messi. Because he is mates with Lanzini.!

"I don't see why we wouldn't get Alonso..? Remember he has a strong affiliation with Steidten..."

Alonso worked at the same club as Steidten for about 5 months. That doesn't mean they have a strong affiliation. People seem to have the idea that it was Steidten who selected and appointed Alonso. It wasn't. That was the work of his boss, Simon Rolfes, who is managing director of sport at Leverkusen.

In any case if Leverkusen keep up anything close to their current form then Alonso will be a shoo-in for the Real Madrid job next summer.

Well... you'd hope they are looking to replacements NOW rather than in May.

As to who? As we know, a Big Name Manager is not guaranteed to work well. They are used to getting backed unconditionally financially and have complete autonomy on transfer decisions and you cant rely on Sullivan for that. I honestly think its a bit of a crap shoot and a gamble with whoever we get. I think its time to take that gamble though as we simply have to move on from Moyes

bit too much like going down the pellegrini route again and steidten will want someone who stays in their own wheelhouse after battling moyes obstinancy.

certainly wouldn't say no though.

I don't see why we wouldn't get Alonso..? Remember he has a strong affiliation with Steidten...

However... Domenico Tredesco is another option... barely 40, very experienced including CL, plays on the front foot, speaks seven languages so good man management, well known to both Tim Steidten and Kretinsky (Dom has even managed in Russia). He is currently biding his time as manager of the Belgium national squad, but is an out and out club manager at his core... He'd be right up our street, I reckon.

Whatever, these are the sort of 'up and coming, but experienced' types we need to look at, not gnarled old campaigners like Ancelotti. Let Man United have him, they can go on and extend their run of failure as long as they like for my money.

Of course he would improve us…

What incentive for him to come…vs Brazil Canada or top Prem or Europe…

Ciao Ciao Ancellotti…

Will Will Still still come? it still makes sense to me that Will Still will want to come and where there's a will there's a way and I think Willtell likes him

We ain’t getting Alonso. (Unless we are taken over by silly money.?) And certain members of the board ain’t that big on Potter. If I was a betting man. I would go for Slot.

I hate to be the one to break this to you, Willtell, but:

"I don't really want Ancellotti" = turning your nose up to him

Lee
Why would you bother to post such factually incorrect tripe?

“I wouldn't turn my nose up at him but I don't really want Ancellotti” is perfectly understandable and doesn’t even need explanation even to a stalker thick pillock like you….

The comparison to Pellegrini was more in he has been there and done it, been around a while and success has always been at "big" clubs with plenty of cash, at Everton Ancelotti wasn't so great, mind you he couldn't wait to fuck off, i bet after a few months he knew he had maybe bitten off more than he could chew by going there?

FWIW, We need someone who can work without the mega big budget the likes the so called "big clubs" have available, Alonso or Potter would be my picks.

Ancelotti is a players manager , loved by all the madrid players , proven attacking manager , not a chance in the world he would come to us

Sydney. Ancelotti ain’t nothing like Pellegrini. And if winning the amount of silverware Ancelotti has won. Only makes him decent. I would love to know who cuts the mustard for us.?
